Lindsay started Proserpine Bait and Tackle in 1999. Dedicated to to servicing the need of local and travelling Barra fanatics, Lindsay has built the business on the following bases:
- Big Barra specialists – gear, rigs and tactics
- Expert sport-fishing knowledge
- Local knowledge of fresh and saltwater sports-fishing
- Unique product tailored for the region and local target species
Building on the passion for Barra, Lindsay rebranded the shop to ‘Barra World in 2016’, fulfilling a vision for a tackle store primarily focussing on all things Barramundi.
Barra World even has its own live Barra’s, to inspire and mesmerise fisho’s (and staff) in-store. Current residents are Deben and Crash. Sadly, our first Barra’s (Gary) life was tragically cut short by cyclone Debbie. RIP Gary. A shooting star. Your brightness will be missed by all.
Barra World is located on the Bruce Highway opposite the Caltex service station.
